Dembot: ROCKETBOOM INTERNATIONAL TALENT SEARCH

  • sarah · 7 months ago
Joanne rocked. Find someone intelligent like her :)
  • iconjohn · 7 months ago
Nothing against Caitlin but see appeared way to young on screen, like 14 years old. Please go for something more on the line of Amanda or Joanne. Maybe even extend an olive branch out to Amanda for the LA job. Think of the hype, it would be like David Lee Roth rejoining Van Halen.

Thanks for the feedback! If we would of had the freedom to jump in fully, I feel pretty confident you would love Caitlin as much as I do...it's actually the opposite, I think: She IS very sophisticated and much older than her age. Keep the comments coming, much appreciated.

Caitlin was the best thing to happen to rocketboom, sucks that hitviews is making it impossible.
  • Joe Thomas · 7 months ago
IMHO Ella Morton is the natural choice for Rocketboom.
I have watched the show religously ever since it became available on TiVo download. And the last 2 weeks have not been as sunny without your regular programming.
I watched Ella's video reel from her application and her antics and personality would fit perfectly on the show.
I hope my recommendation helps her post this job.

Chou Chou will consider it, but it'll cost big $$$. This kind of talent isn't cheap...

i wonder what hitviews wanted. do they really think web celebrities can command a better deal than this? the thing about web celebrities is that new ones will keep on being created in a way that just doesn't happen in traditional media.

    Dear Rocketboom Casting:
I submitted my photo and resume to you, but I forgot to insert my Educational background.

I am a high school graduate. From there I attended Los Angeles City College with a major in
Broadcasting/ Theater Arts. I thought I would let you know. I hope I am the lucky few I should say
one of the two. Any way I look forward to an audition if thats the procedure and meeting you.
    Sincerely,
    William Reuben

This is my absolute dream job. I was born to host!

I've only hosted live shows...I'm looking for a friend with a camera and spare time. I've already submitted...but I hope to add another video or two before the month ends.

Good luck finding your new anchor, Andrew...you're going to find some amazing people!

How about a series of guest presenters and then a vote
  • Jim Reeds · 6 months ago
I've looked at perhaps 30 of the video clips, and think Sara O'Donnell is by far the
best of the ones I've seen. She has a sense of pacing that the others lack, and projects
a kind of energy that would be really great on RB. Although her Average Betty formula
is somewhat limited, its clear that she has the kind of quick-witted intelligent creativity
    that Joanne had.

I don't know if you've looked at her yet but Sarah East (currently hosting The Popcrunch Show, College Buzz, Grocery School) would be a perfect fit for this position. She's got over 20,000 followers on youtube, one video almost to a million hits, and she comes across very natural and witty. I've been to some of her comedy shows she's written, too, and they're always really well done. Plus, I got to meet her once and she was soooo nice and engaging in real life.
Great luck with the site and the talent search. Can't wait to see who gets chosen!

    Hi,

Like about half the planet, I sure am missing Joanne and the daily news.

Dunno if you are taking votes on a replacement from the bios, but if you are, I'm going to go for Sarah East and Ella Morton.

An anchor only needs three things: Personality, Personality, and Personality. Those guys have it.
  • Eric Jaffa · 6 months ago
    For NY host: Sarah East.

She is the host of "The PopCrunch Show" which is one of the best comedy channels on YouTube.

I have a crappy little camera and no editor, I want to begin doing live feeds of fun, and tell the news while I am at it. The problem with live is that there isa strive for perfection as there is no chance to edit the piece. But the live feeds of fun are so raw that I think I will start to feed the masses.
I am wondering if there will be an "Anchor Off" where two anchors for NY vie for the best internet reaction...
In this whole contest and my constant research I have found in myself and realized some great character traits and faults.. But the smile on my face will not wane!
